The design of Shijiazhuang Vanke stands out due to its unique approach to the sales center concept. Instead of placing the building model display in a prominent location, it's tucked away in the back. This strategic decision encourages visitors to interact with the space and explore its various elements. The space is filled with different types of dolls, adding a lively and energetic vibe.
The design's realization technology is another aspect that sets it apart. The designer extracted the hexagon shape from the chemical formula of coffee roasting, a nod to the project's coffee house inspiration. These solid hexagons are arranged non-uniformly to form the ceiling, creating a harmonious blend with the solid wood floor below. The use of solid wood, as opposed to cold marble, fosters a cozy and homey atmosphere.
Despite the short design period of just 35 days, the designer managed to complete all design work from concept to construction drawing. This required careful consideration of the design details and the use of simple, easy-to-do decorations to shorten the duration. The designer also had to find new recycled materials to replace main materials to reduce costs and meet the limited construction budget.
The project's function is a metaphor for the structure of life, with culture serving as the filler. The retail area's cultural and creative products, along with the staircase library, ensure the space meets functional needs while also reaching a deeper spiritual level. This design concept diminishes the cold business feel, bringing people back to life itself.
Shijiazhuang Vanke's unique design has earned it the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. It's a testament to the design's strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and remarkable level of excellence.
